I admit it; I've become a big fan of Bob Farrell. If it's possible, he's even more believeble and sincere in this program than in Give 'Em the Pickle. As he was talking about leadership, I could feel how deeply he cares and that he really lived this stuff.
He starts the program out by saying he has worked with thousands of people who honored him with their best efforts and taught him some of his greatest lessons in life and leadership. That we are the chosen recipients of those lessons in the form of "The Leadership Pickles" is the true honor.
Message is simple, meaningful, and memorable

I had first purchased the video, Give 'em the Pickle, which has now become part of our hospital culture. We show it to the leadership group and to frontline staff, because of it's easy to listen to and easy to understand message. Give'em the Pickle helps you to understand how to take care of the customer and create a base of customer loyalty through service recovery.
When The Leadership Pickles came out, I jumped on it right away to preview it and it did not disappoint. It contained the same elements as Give 'em the Pickle: it's fun with its cartoonish elements, generates interest, and Mr. Farrell's charisma sparkles. (I would love to meet the man and order ice cream in his parlor.)
My CEO had seen it and loved it. The Director of Education had seen it and thought it was elementary for our leadership team. But once I told her that it was not about giving a tool to managers to get things done, but about emphasizing how leaders throughout the organization from the CEO down to frontline staff can influence others through their enthusiasm, passion, courage to work together to achieve projects, goals, tasks, she changed her mind.
We are planning to show this video, because we are in the midst of great change and we are working toward a new vision and creating a better work environment to achieve our business outcomes. We believe that there needs to be an emotional connection between management and frontline staff. The Leadership Pickles stresses servant leadership -how can I help you? How can I serve you? This is an important behavior to adopt if we are going to become a hospital where we are seen as a Health care provider of choice and an Employer of Choice. The Leadership Pickles does cover the basic things, but that is always the most difficult to achieve consistently day to day. We need constant reminders of them and this video in about 16 min does it very well.

There are many books, articles, and videos available on Leadership, but none bring the message home better in our opinion than "The Leadership Pickles". Bob Farrell in his simple, concise yet powerful way reminds us of the key elements of true and passionate (making a difference) leadership. He reminds us, as he has in the past, that the choices we make each day can impact our own lives as well as the people we come in contact with each day. Mr. Farrell in his unique style drives home the message that it's the common sense things that make the big difference, but it requires working consistently at being "the best you can be". As with "Give Em the Pickle", the content is solid and enjoyable to watch. Key points are supported. I liked best the example of the dishwasher. What I liked least is not being able to expand the video screen during the preview which makes it difficult to truly assess #6. That said, I'll be in touch with a sales person. The Leadership Pickles needs to be part of my library.

Our office has enjoyed the "Give 'em the Pickle" video and I'm impressed and excited about "The Leadership Pickles" production. Mr. Farrell is so very credible and his energy holds the audience captive. This is a fast-paced, delight-filled production with believable characters addressing serious issues in a positive and easily understandable manner. Acknowledging the difference between a Manager and Leader provides food for thought for each of us. The "Helen" and "Victor" scenarios were excellent. Enthusiasm, Confidence and Integrity are valuable goals for each of us especially in the business world. If a picture is worth a thousand words, The Leadership Pickles is priceless. The 16 minute length of the film is perfect for staff meetings and in businesses with time crunches for staff training. I believe this video is a gift in bridging the gap between generations. It will be my pleasure to help promote this film.
I was so excited to hear that there was a follow up video to "Give 'Em the Pickle" that would explain to managers and leaders how to motivate employees to give customers the pickle...and I wasn't disappointed. Bob Farrell once again proved the importance of story telling in training to aid in retention of information. The three principles seemed so simple, yet are so powerful. I definitely connected to Bob when he talks about how employees are constantly looking at and to their leaders for how to act.
I can't wait to use The Leadership Pickles in our supervisory forum.

When I first saw this video at a Leadership Conference, I immediately got hooked. This is a DVD that all leaders from different levels can relate to.
